A 200-person, five-office nonprofit gets an embedded IT team without hiring one
How co-managed IT gave one IT Director boots on the ground at every site — and $100K+ a year in cost avoidance
Industry: Non-Profit
Employees: 200+
Location: Northeastern US
Solution: A large organization with five offices relied on a single IT Director to oversee all technology operations. With rising demand for physical support across sites, they partnered with Stealth Technology Group to implement a Co-Managed IT model. Our team provided field technicians in each region, centralized RMM tools, and strategic escalation support—allowing the internal team to scale without hiring full-time techs in every location.
Results: $100K+ in annual cost avoidance, reduced travel and admin overhead, faster response times, improved uptime, and restored strategic focus for the IT Director.

The Challenge
The company had grown steadily over the past decade, expanding into five distinct locations across the region — some more than 300 miles apart. While this growth was great for business, it created serious strain on their internal IT operations.
The company’s IT Director, based at headquarters, was responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology: managing vendors, budgeting for infrastructure, ensuring security compliance, and supporting over 200 employees. While he had the expertise to manage systems and strategy, he lacked the boots-on-the-ground resources to consistently support users at remote offices.
Whenever an issue occurred at one of the branch offices — a failed printer, a downed network switch, or a new hire onboarding — it required dispatching a technician from HQ or relying on untrained staff to triage issues until help arrived. This led to:
- Long response times and frustrated employees
- Frequent travel costs and inefficiencies
- Difficulty justifying the hire of dedicated techs at each site
- Missed opportunities to proactively manage systems
It became clear that the company needed local support presence at each location, but hiring a team of full-time regional technicians wasn’t financially feasible or operationally scalable.
The Solution
That’s where Stealth Technology Group stepped in.
We proposed a Co-Managed IT model that gave the IT Director full control over technology strategy and vendor decisions while leveraging our local field support infrastructure to fill in the operational gaps.
We embedded our services by:
- Deploying field technicians strategically near each office, ready to provide hands-on support when needed
- Implementing our RMM platform to monitor systems across all locations 24/7
- Setting up a shared ticketing system, allowing internal and external teams to collaborate seamlessly on issue tracking
- Standardizing documentation and network visibility, so the IT Director could access infrastructure details across all sites in real time
- Holding regular check-ins with the internal IT leader to align on upcoming needs, priorities, and project planning
This approach eliminated the need for the client to hire, train, and manage multiple regional technicians, while still providing the reliable, physical presence they needed at each site.
By shifting the day-to-day execution to our team — while empowering their internal IT Director to lead strategically — the company found the perfect balance between control and capability.
